Privileges and conditions
Private Pilot License (PPL) will give you the privileges to act as a pilot in command in non-commercial operations in Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC) on single engine aircraft.
The PPL-certificate is the basis for a career in aviation.
Applicants for a PPL shall be at least 17 years old.
Medical certificate with at least class 2 must be obtained before first solo flying.
Flight Training
At least 45 hours of flight instruction. Credits for previous experience may be given when applicable. See below.
The PPL(A) flight training is divided into two phases:
(1) Basic flying, dual (exercise 1-17), aims to prepare the student for first solo
(2) Navigation flying and development into a finished pilot, dual/solo (exercise 18-21)
Price from 113 400 SEK
Paid by installments during the course. (Approximately 2 520 SEK per block hour with a flight instructor in the Cessna 172)

Distance Theory Course
Timescale for the PPL(A) distance theory course is approximately 12 weeks and consists of 135 hours (15 hours per week) self studies with web based literature and test questions from Flygcert.com, followed by 27 hours classroom instruction over three weekends at the flight school. It is possible to participate in classroom instruction via videoconferencing.
Swedish CAA tests can be performed at the flight school or at your local theory examination supervisor.

Theory schedule
Distance theory courses starts in weeks (10)* and 36, but you can start your flight training and self-study at any time!

Credits for previous experience
EASA Part-FCL | FCL.210.A PPL(A) – Experience requirements and crediting
(b) Specific requirements for applicants holding an LAPL(A). Applicants for a PPL(A) holding an LAPL(A) shall have completed at least 15 hours of flight time on aeroplanes after the issue of the LAPL(A), of which at least 10 shall be flight instruction completed in a training course at a DTO or at an ATO. That training course shall include at least four hours of supervised solo flight time, including at least two hours of solo cross-country flight time with at least:
1 cross-country flight of at least 270 km (150 NM), during which full stop landings at two aerodromes different from the aerodrome of departure shall be made.
(c) Specific requirements for applicants who hold an SPL issued in accordance with Annex III (Part‑SFCL) to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/1976, including privileges to fly TMGs. Applicants for a PPL(A) who hold an SPL with the privileges to fly TMGs shall have completed:
(1) at least 24 hours of flight time on TMGs after endorsement of the TMG privileges; and
(2) at least 15 hours of flight instruction in aeroplanes in a training course at a DTO or at an ATO, including at least 10 hours of supervised solo flight time, including at least 5 hours of solo cross-country flight time with at least:
1 cross-country flight of at least 270 km (150 NM), during which full stop landings at 2 aerodromes different from the aerodrome of departure shall be made.
(d) Crediting. Applicants holding a pilot licence for another category of aircraft, with the exception of balloons, shall be credited with 10 % of their total flight time as PIC on such aircraft up to a maximum of 10 hours.
